Sydney!
So after our long travels in the van down from the Sunshine Coast, living in campgrounds and side-roads, we finally made it to Sydney! Now Charlotte has a relative in Sydney, her grandmother's cousin's daughter! Margaret lives in the suburbs of Sydney with her husband Darrel and they very kindly let us stay with them for a week!
Margaret and Darrel were fantastic throughout our entire time in Sydney, extremely accommodating, giving us a room and a bathroom, making sure we were always well fed, taking us around the sights and places to see in Sydney. They couldn't have been better hosts and helped us out so much! We met their son and daughter, Tim and Maddy, and went for burgers and Italian with them. I also ended up building an Ikea bed support for them! They took us around places we wouldn't have thought about going, like Newtown, a bohemian-hipster-Glastonbury-esque area of Sydney which was full of interesting bars, shops and cafes!
On our first evening in Sydney, we were dropped off in the CBD to have a look around the festival that was going on at the time - Vivid Sydney. Vivid Sydney is an annual light and sound festival that illuminated the city centre and harbour area.
Lights at Darling Harbour!
