Forster & Boomerang Beach

We liked Forster, the sea was pretty. Like the med. It was warm. James splashed his feet in the sea. He looked like he was having a lot of fun. We walked along the end of the rock wall and had a look for dolphins and sharks but to no avail. We then went a bit further along the coast and checked in at our next campsite which was called Camp Elim. It is a camp mainly designed for school groups to come away to for activity camps, so there were lots of little cabins and a climbing wall. It was set on a beautiful lake called Lake Wallis. We were going to hire kayaks however the wind had picked up and it now resembled the story of Winnie the Pooh on the blustery day. It's been pretty breezy ever since. Resulting in us having to adorn several thick layers of coats and hoodies as if we were about to tackle freezing conditions in the Antarctic. However in reality it is only about 15oC, but it feels super cold to us after 8 months living on the sunny coast. After checking in and having a nice warm shower we headed off to check out a cute beach we'd read about in the surf travel guide. It had a typically authentic name of boomerang beach. James was seduced. The waves were breaking close to shore and were smooth and clean. He couldn't resist so had to pop out for a surf, whilst I took pictures and spotted some majestic sea eagles.

After a cruisey surf we headed back to Forster to pick up some dinner as we didn't want to freeze.
