After leaving Springbrook National Park, we moved onto Coolangatta. I was very excited about this, as it's home to Snapper Rocks, one of the finest surf spots in the world. It also happens to be a beautiful place!
Charlotte selected Boyd's Bay Holiday Park as our camping site of choice for 2 nights. It's a great site - big, clean showers, a common room with a 50 inch plasma, large kitchens and a heated pool with water slide. We stayed 2 nights as because of the awful weather, I'd been unable to surf some of the world-famous waves I'd come here specifically to surf in the previous days, and Sunday and Monday have excellent surf forecasts!, so we extended our stay!
So on Sunday morning, after the worst of the swells went, I sampled Snapper Rocks for an hour or so in the morning.
The waves you can see in the background start where Charlotte took this photo. They are LONG waves.
After a quick surf at Snapper (the waves were still very much stormy, and the Sunny Sunday crowds were enormous), we ventured up into the National Park to find Cougil Cascades and some very dense rainforest!

I see water, I go into water
After spending a few hours exploring the national park, jumping in and out of the rivers and waterfalls, we went back to Coolangatta to watch the sunset.
